Snorkelling
There is excellent snorkelling along the coast of Amed, you can snorkel directly from our Wawawewe Resorts, we have snorkelling equipment to rent and can arrange transport for you, car or a fishing boat to visit other sites i.e. The Japanese ship wreck, close to Wawawewe Rock.
Our reefs are being damaged - Please do not walk on or touch the coral as this will kill it. There is an abundance of coral in front of Wawawewe II, please ask our staff for the best route into the sea at low tide to avoid walking on the coral. |
Fishing and Sailing
Early morning fishing is a must, with a local fisherman in his dug out jukung (boat) with outriggers. You can go far out to the horizon, to see Lombok and the Gili Islands, a spectacular sun rise, catch fish and if your lucky dolphins are often sighted cruising at this time. On your return the staff will cook your catch for you.
Or you can take a leisurely afternoon sail along the coast also very invigorating. If you prefer dry land, rise early and experience the sunrise from our pool at Wawawewe II or Wawawewe Rock, with the horizon studded with fishing boats and the rugged peaks of Lombok in the distance and maybe those dolphins. From Wawawewe Beach and Wawawewe Classic enjoy a morning walk or jog along the beach as the fishermen return with there catch. |
